The Valley of Flowers trek takes you to the UNESCO world heritage site and the blessed pilgrimage site of Hemkund Sahib. The easy to moderate monsoon trek does not require any prior high altitude trekking experience. It is a good trek for people of all age groups. This is popular and well established trail not just tor trekkers but pilgrims coming to visit the sacred Hemkund Sahib.
The trek to Valley of Flowers starts from Govindghat. Start the short 14 km gradual ascent to Ghangaria. On arrival check-in or camp out. Next day, scale the height of 3,858m to arrive at the Valley Of Flowers. This sight is a feast to the eyes and senses. Admire one of nature’s finest creations as you are left speechless witnessing an array of thousands of flowers in full bloom. A botanist’s delight, the entire valley is generally a carpet of colors of green, yellow, red, blue and every shade created by nature. The flowering pattern apparently changes every few days. While the flowers grow in abundance, these are very rare species. After having a fill of the splendid beauty return to Ghangaria to camp for the night.
The next day, follow the steep trail to Hemkund Sahib. Visit the religious site where Guru Gobind Singh is said to have meditated in a previous life. Surrounded by seven snow-capped mountains soothe your minds in the blessed ambiance.
