Located at a distance of 10 km from the city, Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh is one of the best gardens in Jaipur. Placed on the Jaipur-Agra highway, this palace garden was built in the year 1728 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh for his second wife Queen of Sisodia clan. The garden is considered as the symbol of love between the two. The walls are adorned by beautiful paintings depicting the love story of Radha-Krishna.
The Queen used this place for spending her leisure time. A well-maintained garden, Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh is decorated with galleries, foliage, murals, flowerbeds, pavilions, glistening water channels, and attractive water fountains. This multi-tiered garden is one of the most popular attractions in Jaipur. The lush garden offers a wonderful contrast to the otherwise tanned backdrop of the city.
History
Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh had founded the garden in 1728 for his beloved second wife who belonged to the Sisodia Rajput clan of Udaipur. He gifted this garden to the queen as a retreat for her ideal time. As the garden was away from the chaos of the main city, it offered a serene heaven to the queen of Sisodia. The garden has colorful scented flowers, several plant species, and verdant green shrubs.

The garden is a wonderful blend of Mughal as well as traditional Indian styles of architecture and designing. Pavilions and spires seen in the garden are Indian design features. Even the paintings on the walls are inspired from the everlasting love of Goddess Radha and Lord Krishna. Mughal touch can be seen in the fact that water channels, flowerbeds, and fountains, assimilate in the center. The garden complex also has shrines and natural springs, devoted to Lord Vishnu, Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva.

The best time to visit Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh is from July to March. This is that time of the year when Jaipur receives monsoons, succeeded by winters. This is also the best time visit Jaipur.
