The Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board in collaboration with the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a new luxury train that will cover 6 Sikh religious shrines.
The Panj Takht Express initiative has been undertaken with a purpose to provide Sikh, Punjabi and other communities based in Punjab a journey to Gurudwaras and other holy places pertaining to the Sikh religion.
The Panj Takht Express is a 6 night’s and 7 days that will encompass 6 prominent Sikh shrines which include Sri Harmandir Sahib Ji, Sri Akal Takht Sahib Ji, Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib Ji, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Ji, Takht Sri Patna Sahib Ji and Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Ji.

For beginning a religious trip aboard Panj Takht Express, you have a choice of boarding the train either from Delhi or Amritsar.
Board the train at Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi at 07.00 PM.
The train will depart for Amritsar at 08.00 PM.
Overnight stay on-board the train.
Early morning, the train will arrive in Amritsar.
Later proceed for Panj Sarovar Walk which include a visit to Gurudwara Sri Santokhsar Sahib, Sri Ramsar Sahib Ji, Sri Bibeskar Sahib Ji, Sri Kaulsar Sahib Ji and Sri Harmandir Sahib Ji.
At 1:00 PM in the afternoon, visit Jallianwala Bagh, a national monument whose walls bears the bullet marks of General Dyer opened fire.
At 2:00 PM, you’ll be taken to Maharaja Ranjit Singh Panorama.
At 3:30 PM, proceed on an excursion to the Attari Border to witness ‘Change of Guard’ Ceremony.
At 8:30, pay visit to Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar.
At 7:00 AM in the morning, board the train to Sirhind from Amritsar.
By 10:30 AM, you’ll arrive at the Sirhind Railway Station and proceed on an excursion to Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib.
Post lunch, hit the road to Gurudwara Anandpur Sahib.
Visit Anandpur Sahib and Virasat-e-Khalsa Heritage Center, a museum featuring objet d'art pertaining to Sikh and regional architecture.
At 7:30 PM in the evening, visit ‘Shastra Darshan’, the birthplace of Khalsa.
Return to the train for dinner while the train departs to Bhatinda.
At 08:00 AM in the morning, you’ll arrive at the Bhatinda Railway Station.
Post a leisurely breakfast in the hotel, pay a visit to the holy ‘Takht Sri Damdama Sahib’.
At 1:00 PM, eat food in Langar organized at the Gurdwara Sahib.
In the evening, savor refreshments on board followed by train departure to Delhi.
Dinner and overnight stay on board the train.
Arrival at Delhi Railway Station by 5:00 AM in the morning followed by assisted transfer to the Delhi airport to board flight to Patna.
Arrive at the Patna airport and proceed to the hotel to fresh n up.
Later, proceed to the revolving restaurant in Patna for lunch.
Post lunch, visit Patna Sahib Gurudwara, the birth place of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, followed by “Guru ka Bagh” and “Gayaghat” Gurudwara.
By 05:00 PM, you’ll be transferred to the Patna airport to board the Charter flight to Nanded.
Upon arrival in Nanded, you’ll be transferred to Gurudwara Sri Hazur Sahib Ji, Nanded.
Overnight stay in the Guest House at Sri Hazur Sahib Ji.
The morning is at leisure.
At 11:00 AM, proceed to “Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Ji”, Kangan Sahib Ji, Shikarghar Sahib Ji and Guru Ka Bagh.
At 2:00 PM, eat Langar at Hazur Sahib.
By 2:30 PM, you’ll be transferred to the Nanded airport to board the flight to Delhi via Aurangabad.
Arrive in Delhi by 10:30 PM followed by assisted transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
In the morning, enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the hotel.
At 8:30 AM, proceed on a tour to Gurudwara Sisganj Sahib Ji, located at Chandani Chowk in New Delhi. The place is equally revered by both Sikhs and Hindus.
Later, you’ll be taken to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Ji.
By 04:00 PM, you will be transferred to the Delhi Railway Station to board Amritsar Shatabdi train.
