Itinerary - Ooty Kumarakom Tour

Day 1 - Coimbatore-Ooty (100kms)

Upon your arrival at the Coimbatore Airport/Railway Station, leave by road for Ooty. On reaching, check into the hotel. Post lunch, leave by road for sightseeing tour of Ooty. The attractions that you will cover include Botanical Garden, Ooty Lake, Doddabetta Peak and the local market. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2 - Ooty

Post Breakfast you will proceed to enjoy local Sightseeing of Ooty.

Ooty Rose Garden - The pride of Ooty lies in the Rose Garden With more than 20 thousand variety of roses. It belongs to an elite club of 35 rose gardens around the world which has won the Garden of Excellence Award for South Asia. Ooty Lake - An artificial lake, built in 1825 by John Sullivan, Ooty Lake is one of the most popular tourist attractions. Its scenic beauty captivates everyone. Walking around the lake on a well laid footpath and boating are also quite popular here.

Deer Park - It is located about 1 km away from the Ooty Lake. Along with deer such as Sambhar and the Chithal, this park hosts a variety of flora and fauna, especially avian fauna.

Doddabetta Peak - It is the highest point of Nilgiris hills with a height of about 2,623 meters. It is also the second highest peak in South India. A junction of Western and Eastern Ghats, its breathtaking view of the landscape around is something not to be missed.

Ooty Tribal Research Center - Located about 10 kilometers from Ooty, it conducts research on the tribals inhabiting South India and the Andaman and Nicobar islands. It also houses guest house and a library.

Come back to Hotel for an overnight stay at Ooty.

Day 3 - Ooty - Kodaikanal (approx. 250 km / 6 hours)

Wake up early in the morning on day 3 of your Ooty Kumarakom tour. Today, you will head towards Kodaikanal. En route, you will visit the Palani Temples. Standing as a wonderful example of South Indian style of temple architecture, these shrines present a sight to behold. After exploring, continue your journey towards your desired destination.

Upon reaching, complete the check-in formalities. Enjoy some refreshment and subsequently leave for sightseeing of Kodaikanal. Known for its placid lakes, green hills, granite cliffs, cascading waterfalls and lush valleys, this hill station in Tamil Nadu is dotted with several other attractions as well.

Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 - Kodaikanal

You will continue with sightseeing in Kodaikanal today as well. Nestled around the star-shaped Kodai Lake, the hill town of Kodaikanal spreads across the area of 60 acres. Popular places of tourist interest include the Kodaikanal Solar Physical Observatory, Kodai Lake, Bryant Park (housing 740 species of roses), Kurunji Andavar Temple (dedicated to Lord Murugan or Kartikeya), Coaker's Walk (a long pathway with wonderful views), Pillar Rocks (a picnic spot with a small well-maintained garden), Green Valley View with its wonderful vistas and Shembaganur Natural History Museum.

Day 5 - Kodai - Munnar (160 km)

Post breakfast in the morning, leave by road for Munnar, one of the most well-known hill towns of Kerala. Munnar offers a breathtaking view of the Cardamom hills and tea plantations en-route. After reaching, check in at the hotel. Later, move out of the hotel for a leisurely walk.

Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 - Munnar

Wake up to the bliss of Munnar. Feast on a delicious breakfast and get ready. Proceed for a local sightseeing tour of Munnar. The first stop is the Tea Museum, where you learn about the processing of the favorite brew of India. Later, proceed to the beautiful Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake. In the afternoon visit the Eravikulam National Park. The high attitude sanctuary is known for the Nilgiri Tahr and the Neelakurinji flowers that bloom once in 12 years.

Return to the hotel for overnight stay..

Day 7 - Munnar - Thekkady (160 km, around 4.5 hours)

Post breakfast;you will leave for Thekkady by road. On arrival at the nature blessed town, check in to the hotel or the jungle lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Periyar Lake. The Periyar National Park is right on the shores of the lake and on a boat tour it is quite possible for you to see wildlife and birds.Overnight stay.

Day 8 - Thekkady - Kumarakom (135 km /3.5 hours)

Today morning after breakfast leave by road to Kumarakom, on arrival transfer to the hotel. Take rest, Later visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Can enjoy water sports activities on direct payment or relax in the backwater. Overnight stay.

Day 9 - Kumarakom - Cochin - Return journey

In the morning, drive to Cochin. Post lunch; enjoy a pleasant boat ride across the Cochin Harbor. Here you'll have the option to relax at the hotel or enjoy the local sightseeing tour. The attractions that you will visit include St. Francis Church, the Chinese Fishing Nets, Jewish Synagogue and Dutch Palace, built in 1568.

Later, you will be dropped at Cochin Airport for the onward destinations. The tour ends here.
