Known to be 22nd highest waterfall in India, Bishop Falls is a three-tiered waterfall that has a height of 443 feet. Another waterfall named Beadon falls cascades down along with it and both of these falls are generally known to be twin brothers as they fall down into a deep gorge of Umiam River, which traverses through the Suna valley. Located on NH 40 at Mawprem, this fall is accessible from a narrow road at Mawlai.
The impressive site of the Bishop waterfall is also quite popular as picnic spot, amidst family vacationers as well as the locals. When compared, Bishop seems to be gushing with more vigor. Do not forget to click photographs with the lovely surroundings. Try to avoid morning visit to the waterfall as the weather might be hazy. There is a hydroelectric powerhouse too works at the base of this fall. Bishop fall lies amidst thick forests and huge rocky formations.
