Ladakh is a high mountainous region and famous for its adventurous activities. Trekking is one of the most courageous and exciting activities which one can enjoy. Hiking at such a high altitude is an experience on its own. Markha Valley trek is one of the famous treks and you will be enthralled by the majestic landscape of the valley. This 12 night 13 days excursion will take you deep into the famous Himalayas where you will challenge yourself and test your limits on a variety of trekking trails.
In the Markha valley trekking package we have covered all the important destinations like Skiu, Nimaling, Zinchen, Yurutse, Hankar, Shang Sumdo, and Hemis. Feel the blissful spirituality of Buddhist monasteries and palaces and feel your inner calm express itself in this beautiful wilderness.
Our representatives will meet you at the Delhi airport/railway station and assist you with your transfer to your hotel in Delhi. Check into your hotel and freshen up and spend the remaining hours of the day at your leisure. Delhi is a city full of life and you can enjoy local street food and visit the nearby malls or markets to delve into the vibrant vibes of the national capital.

On the second day of your Markha trek Ladakh package, you will leave for Leh via a flight. On reaching Leh our local representative will help you in checking in at your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. This day is for the acclimatization. You can rest at your resort or explore the local market of Leh while enjoying the enchanting landscapes in the backdrop. The Tibetan market of Leh has its dynamic aura where you will love to shop.

After completing your ravishing breakfast we drive towards Spituk which is around 8 kilometers from your hotel. Spituk will be the first point of your Markha valley trek. An 11th-century Buddhist monastery is situated in Spituk, experience the tranquility of the place. Later we cross the Indus River en route to the Valley of Zinchen River. After walking for 4 long hours you will halt for an overnight camping experience. Seeing stars in a clear night sky, free from light pollution amongst the Himalayas is an experience that you will cherish for your whole life.

On the fourth day of your Markha valley, you will start trekking towards Yurutse via Stok Kangri and Stok-la. After trekking for 3 hours you will be delighted to view the beautiful lush green summer pastures. You will cross the river and after a full day trek, you will reach Yurutse, were another wonderful night full of stars and moon awaits us.

You will proceed towards Skiu today via Ganda La. Challenge yourself by trekking along the mountainside where you will pass a small valley by following a steep crisscross path. You will arrive at the market by descending towards Shingo within 2 hours. Once you reach Markha valley, Skiu is just a few hundred meters trek. Light some bonfire and share some trekking stories.

Lush green jungles surround the bank of river Markha, from where we start our trek on the sixth day. Regime your trek bypassing the right bank of river marker through a barren plane and descend towards the Markha village once you cross the left bank of the river.
Cool your heels as well as your senses by camping on the site. Explore the local surroundings and click some pictures as the rest of the day is at your leisure. You can take with locals and listen to their stories as well as share yours with others.

Today we continue our trek towards the main valley by traveling on the right side of the river bank. The river Markha is flowing with very high currents, this creates some difficulties for the trekkers. Visit the soul pleasing Humlung monastery and sit in meditation for some time. We proceed towards Hankar by walking on the right bank of the river, mingle with the local population here. Our camp will be set up here for the night.

We continue our trek further across the Markha Valley by walking on the right side of the river bank. The trek is challenging here as the valley is narrow and steep. We cross some bridges and reach Tchatchutse. We move towards Nimaling after that which offers some astounding views of the valley of Ladakh and it also provides some mind-boggling views of the Kang Yangtze.

We cross the Markha valley and reach Kongmaru La by crossing the crisscross path. Feel the adrenaline pump through your veins when you continue trekking towards Chukirmo on a steep descent on the left bank of the river. Arrive at Shang Sumdo by crossing the right as well as the left bank of the river. An enchanting camping spot in the mountains, Shang Sumdo will make the trek worthwhile. Visit the small Buddhist monastery which is located at a distance of about an hour from our campsite.

Today we visit Hemis, which is one of the most important monasteries in the Ladakh region. The monastery holds special importance because a humongous thangka (which is one of the largest in the world) is showcased at this monastery once every 12 years. Feel the positive environment of Buddhist monks chanting spiritual Mantras and sync your soul with the universe here. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Today we visit the Shey monastery, where you will find 22 feet long Sakyamuni Buddha statue which is gilded with gold and is made of pure copper. This statue is the second largest Buddha statue in the entire Ladakh region.
We proceed to visit the Thiksey monastery, which holds a clear resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa. A 49 feet high statue of Maitreya is built in this monastery which commemorates the visit of the 14th Dalai Lama to this monastery. Many historical items such as swords, scriptures, and thangkas can be found in this monastery. Visit the Leh Palace which is just adjacent to the monastery. Explore the markets of Leh and take a souvenir back home, the woolen items here are especially famous.

After having your sumptuous breakfast, our tour representatives will help you in boarding a flight to Delhi from Leh Airport. Once you reach Delhi Airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Delhi. Rest for the day and go through all those wonderful pictures that you took during your trekking expedition. Explore the local markets of Delhi especially Palika bazar and Chandni Chowk and do some shopping.
Return to the hotel after shopping and having a delicious dinner at the resort. Overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.
Check out from the hotel after having your breakfast get transferred to the Delhi airport/railway station for onward journey.
