Beas Kund trek, Himachal Pradesh is one of the most popular trails in Manali. The trek takes you away from the hustle and bustle of cities into the bliss of mountains. The moderate trekking trail is ideal for the mountain lovers. The trail can be easily covered in a long weekend.
The Beas Kund, the origin of the River Beas is a small glacial lake is fed by the melting snow of the higher peaks of the region. The trek follows the banks of Beas River towards the breathtaking Pir Pinjal ranges. The trail passes through the beautiful meadows of Dhundi and Bakarthach.
From Manali take a short drive of 12 km to Solang Nala takes. From here, start walking to Dhundi, a flat walk of 8 km along the right bank of river Beas. The route crosses through lush forests of oak and offers spectacular views of snowcapped mountains. The peaks visible are Deo Tibba (6001 m) and Indrasan peak (6220 m). Camp for the night at Dhundi.
Next day, begin the 5 km to Bakrathatch (3270m). The beautiful trail offers views of great Himalayan peaks. Rest for the night. Next start your climb gently to Beas Kund. The route is through boulders and rocks in summers and through heavy snow in winters. After a trek of 4-5 hours witness the breathtaking lake of Beas Kund.
