The Hampta Pass trek excursion begins from the picturesque hill station of Manali. The first stop will be Chika, a beautiful valley of evergreen forests of deodars, spruces and firs. En-route get the glimpse of mountain hamlets. The trek preceding Chika will become more challenging as you gain height and is also definitely the prettiest. Witness the picturesque scenery of different species of colorful flowers and many little streams until you reach Bhalu ka Ghera. The valley gets its name from the fact that brown bears descend from higher elevations to hibernate in winters.
The trek further passes picturesque valley, a natural breeding ground for colorful flowers. The snow peaked mountains are a common sight as you are high up amidst clouds. The trek from here is easy as it is a comparatively flatter terrain. Camp at Siagoru, next day proceed towards Chatru. This phase of the trail is the most difficult as you cross steep elevations. The next stop is the serene alpine lake called Chandratal. Bewitched the beauty of the crystal clear waters and the fresh air retrace the trek back to Manali.
