The azure waters of the Arabian Sea on the west and the rocky expanse of the Western Ghats on the east, Goa, is blessed with a verdant nature that draw thousands of tourists from all over the country and abroad. Though much of Goa's share of limelight is drawn by the breath-takingly beautiful beaches, the abundance of nature in Goa manifests itself in several other forms ranging from its lush forests, emerald rivers, tranquil lakes and swift waterfalls. The waterfalls in Goa are mostly located on the Western Ghats and quite a crowd puller. The Arvalam Waterfall is one of the finest and most visited waterfalls in Goa.

The Arvalam Waterfalls

Plunging down in a wild gush from an altitude of 70 ft, the Arvalam Falls is located at at Arvalem, about 2 km from Sanquelim and 8 km from Bicholim, in Valpoi taluk, North Goa. The best time to visit the waterfalls is during the monsoon when the riotous waters of the Arvalam Waterfall know no bound. The rapturous waters of the falls drop into a crystal lake which is tempting for swimmers. This amazingly beautiful waterfall is equally popular among tourists and the film industry which accounts for the numerous shootings that take place at this place. Its proximity with the Rudreshwar Temple and the Arvalem Caves makes this place doubly significant for tourists.
