Itinerary - Goa Trip with Dudhsagar

Day 1 - Goa (Arrival) – Dudhsagar Falls Trip

Once you arrive at the Goa airport/railway station, our smiling representative will be waiting for you who will assist you in transferring to your hotel.

Freshen up at the hotel and we will proceed to for the Dudhsagar falls trip in Goa. These majestic waterfalls pour down from a height of 1017 feet and you can almost hear the sound of water splashing against rocks from a distance of more than a hundred meters. The literal translation of the name Dudhsagar is a sea of milk this is because of the heavy volume of white foam that the waterfall creates when it hits the rocks.

The beauty of Dudhsagar falls is ephemeral during monsoons. There is water all year round in these waterfalls, and they are a sight to behold in any season. A part of Bhagwan Mahavir wildlife sanctuary, Dudhsagar falls are located in the Sanguem Taluka of Goa. Dudhsagar falls are created by the mighty Mandovi River which traverses through the length and breadth of Karnataka and Goa, making its way past the Western Ghats and plummeting near the falls.

You can swim in the cool water of Dudhsagar Falls or just take your DSLR and click some breathtaking photos of Dudhsagar and its surroundings. On the way to Dudhsagar, you will have an enjoyable experience in itself. Beautiful small villages with sun prepping from behind the Western Ghats and lush green countryside farms welcome you to Goa.

Tired of playing in the water in the Dudhsagar falls? Then head straight to the Jungle Cafe which is just outside the Bhagwan Mahavir sanctuary (at an additional cost). You can also choose to take an elephant ride and feel on being on top of the world (at an additional cost).

We then proceed towards visiting the Bhagwan Mahavir Sanctuary, which is a sprawling wildlife sanctuary, covering an area of 240 square kilometers. The sanctuary contains more than 722 species of colorful plants out of which 128 species are found only in the Western Ghats. Carnivorous animals such as leopard, panther, jungle cat and The Royal Bengal Tiger are found in this wildlife sanctuary along with herbivorous animals such as deer, sambar, hog, barking deer and spotted deer.

After a tiring and exciting day, we proceed back towards our hotel for an overnight stay in Goa.

Day 2 - North Goa Sightseeing

After having your resplendent Goan breakfast, we proceed towards having a rendezvous with the beautiful state of Goa. Today we go on a sightseeing tour of North Goa which consists of locales such as Aguada fort and lighthouse, Anjuna Beach and Calangute beach.

Aguada Fort and Lighthouse

One of the most formidable forts of the Portuguese in India, the Aguada Fort which was built to protect Goa from the marauding navies of Dutch and Marathas. This is the place where Mandovi meets the Arabian Sea. The peculiarity of this Fort is that it never fell into enemy hands. The ingenuity of architecture lies in the fact that the fort uses the natural terrain of the region to protect itself. Built entirely of the local laterite stone, the fort is an exquisite example of Portuguese military architecture.

There is a 4 storeyed lighthouse lying near the Fort was built way back in 1864 and was designed to emit light every 30 seconds. The lighthouse is closed for public viewing, but do not worry, a new lighthouse has been constructed in close vicinity to the old one. Climb atop a new lighthouse that was built on the edge of the cliff called the Aguada lighthouse and experience the serene beauty of the Arabian Sea.

Anjuna Beach

Anjuna Beach is a 2 km long stretch of sandy paradise in Goa. Yoga centers, cafes, restaurants, bars, the sun, and the warm Arabian waters, these are the benefits that you get at the Anjuna beach. Water sports such as Jet skiing and paragliding are available at the beach at a fair rate. You could also choose to just laze around the beach, doing nothing, just gazing at the sea.

Calangute Beach

The busiest beach of Goa, Calangute Beach will enchant you with its mesmerizing beauty. Although the sea breeze caressing your body will be sufficient for you to consider yourself lucky to be at the Calangute, the alluring beach contains much more. Also known as, "Queen of Goa's beaches" the beach is filled with action. You will savor tantalizing seafood which is being sold on the roadside stall as well as restaurants, inviting bars which have a beautiful sea view and plenty of water sports in this 4-mile long beach. Day 3 - South Goa Sightseeing

After having your mouth-watering breakfast, we proceed towards sightseeing in the southern part of Goa. We will go on a sightseeing expedition of the old Goa churches which are dated back to the 16th century. You can view the classical, the Manueline and the baroque styles of architecture all within close vicinity of each other in Goa. Saint Augustine Church, the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Saint Francis of Assisi Church are some of the most famous and iconic old Goa churches that will leave you longing for more.

Light a candle, say a silent prayer or just experience pure bliss in the home of God at these beautiful churches. One of the most famous places of worship in Goa is the SE cathedral. The word "Se" means to see. The cathedral was built as a victory monument to celebrate the Portuguese victory over an invading Muslim Army. The main attraction of the SE cathedral is its Golden Bell, which is considered to be one of the best church bells in the world.

Shri Mangueshi Temple

The Mangueshi temple is dedicated to Lord Mangueshi who is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva. A deep Stambh, which is a seven storeyed oil lamp tower is the prime attraction of this Temple.

Dona Paula

Located at the conjunction of Mandovi and Zuari rivers, the Dona Paula viewpoint is an epitome of romance. The name of this viewpoint is based on the name of a romantic heroine in Portuguese folklore, and this place is considered to be one of the most picturesque places in entire Goa.

Day 4 - Goa Departure

Bid adieu to Goa today as this is the last day of your Dudhsagar Falls tour from Goa. After having your mouthwatering breakfast you will proceed towards the airport/railway station carrying fond memories of your trip.

Post breakfast in the morning, check out of the hotel and drive to the Airport/ Railway Station for your onward journey.
