Itinerary - Short Escape to Manipur

Day 1 - Imphal

Once you arrive in Imphal, the capital city of Manipur, meet our IHPL tour representative who helps you with an assisted transfer to your pre-booked hotel. Complete the check-in formalities at the hotel. The afternoon is scheduled for sightseeing. Shri Shri Govindajee Temple is the major attraction of the day. This magnificent Vaishnavite temple was erected during the first half of the 18th century. Dedicated to Lord Govinda and Radha, this temple stands adjacent to the former palace of the erstwhile ruler of Manipur.

Day 2 - Imphal

On Day 2 of the tour, visit the well-known Keibul Lamjao National Park, famed as the World's only floating national park that is also home Sangai- the endangered dancing species of a deer. The other visits of the day include Loktal Lake- the largest fresh water lake in the north-east region of India, the INA Memorial and the Japanese War Memorial. Stay overnight.

Day 3 - Imphal

Post breakfast on the 3rd day of the tour, you get a chance to visit Andro Vilage. Around 27 km eastwards of Imphal, this is an ancient Meiti village. During your visit to the village, you notice that the inhabitants still stick to their age-old traditions, customs and lifestyle of their original tribes. Thereafter, you continue the city tour of Imphal including Kangal Fort. Placed close to the right bank of the River Imphal, this palace holds religious, historical as well as archeological significance. The next visit is to the Ima Market, a market which is run by women. You can shop for household stuff, handloom, handicrafts and much more. The last visit of the day is to the World War II cemetery. Overnight stay.

Day 4 - Imphal

Today, after relishing breakfast, you leave the comforts of your hotel for embarking on a day's excursion to Ukhrul. A beautiful hill town in Manipur, Ukhrul is located at a distance of 84 km towards the north-east of Imphal. This town is home to the people of the Tangkhul Naga Tribe. Admire the scenery spread all around you. Placed at an altitude of 1662 m above the sea level, Ukhrul is just the perfect place to observe the lifestyle and rituals of tribal people of Manipur. Stay overnight in Imphal.

Day 5 - Imphal

Today is the last day of the tour, when after breakfast, you get an assisted transfer to the airport to board the flight for your other destination.
