Chandrakhani Pass is one of the most beautiful mountain passes in India, at an altitude of 3660 m located in the Kullu valley. The Chandrakhani Pass Trek stretches from an elevation of moderate and low altitude treks in Himachal Pradesh. Though a low height trek the trekkers requires to get acclimatized to the prevailing conditions. The beautiful pass offers fabulous views of the Deo Tibba peak, Pir Panjal and Parbati range of mountains.
The 22 km trek can be completed easily in 6 days. The expedition requires not much training but, a basic level of fitness. The journey can be covered anytime of the year, but June to October is a very good time. The snow covered and the lush meadows are definitely most beautiful views of Himalayas. Trekkers can indulge in the simple and affable Himachali culture.
From the village of Naggar, the trek to Chandrakhani begins with a gradual ascent of 15 km upto Rumsu and Ganachalini at 8856 ft. in 5-6 hours. Begin an uphill 4 km trek to Celanti at 11480 ft. The 12 km trail takes 4-5 Hrs. The view of the Kullu valley, Manali, Pir Panjal, and Bara Bhangal ranges is spellbinding. Camp at Nayu Tapru before scaling the heights of Chandrakhani. Reaching the Chandrakhani Pass is a divine experience. Enjoy the impressive view of Ghalpo Peaks of Lahaul- Dharamsura (6446 m) and Papsura (6451 m) and the other high peaks in the upper Tosh valley. After a relaxing break start trekking downhill to reach Dadru via the meadows at Nagarvani 9840 Ft). The Malana village falls on the trail. You can either stop or continue with the trek to Jari.
