The lush green forests and waterfalls look magnificent in the monsoon here too. However, it is not advisable to embark on this spiritual journey to the shrine as there is a heavy chance of mudslides.

  • Vaishno Devi Katra's weather fluctuates from 25°C to 18°C in July and is the best time to travel for budget travelers. This month also experiences the heaviest rainfalls that last about 25 days.
  • With temperatures hovering between 17°C and 24°C, August has approx. 23 days of rainfall, making it hard to go on Vaishno Devi Yatra. 
  • As September approaches, the temperature drops from 25°C to 16°C with 21 days of rainfall. You must carry your rain gear and carry light woolen clothes for the nighttime.     

Vaishno Devi in Winter Season (October to March)

October and November are the peak time to visit Vaishno Devi. Due to the Navratri festival, there is a massive crowd of pilgrims visiting the shrine and roaring ‘Jai Mata Di’ in full enthusiasm.
