Itinerary - 8 Days Bangalore Mysore Ooty Kodaikanal Tour

Day 1 - Arrive Bangalore - Bangalore Local Sightseeing

Upon your arrival in Bangalore, you will have an assisted transfer to the hotel in Bangalore. After taking some rest you will embark on the sightseeing tour of the city. Lal Bagh will be the first place to visit in Bangalore. This garden is spread over a sprawling area of 240 acres of land and houses 1854 species of plants. Lal Bagh comprises the world’s largest collection of rare species of plants. Bull Temple will be another stopover place. This temple is dedicated to the Nandi who is very lovable to Lord Shiva and he is his mount or ‘Vahana'. This temple is the world’s biggest temple dedicated to Nandi. Seeks blessing from Lord Shiva and Nandi and then proceed to the next destination and for this, you will drive past the Vidhan Soudha. This is one of the most beautiful buildings in the country and is proudly boasts the title of being the largest legislative building in the country. Glare at the glorified grandiose of the edifice on the way to the Vishveshwarya Technological Museum. This science and technology museum organises 3D shows for the visitors and comprises a plethora of artefacts which includes engine, transportations, telecommunications, aviation, rocket, etc.

Then you will visit the Art Gallery where you will see some of the most beautiful paintings, murals, artefacts, and various other artistic things. Cubbon Park will be the next sightseeing place of the day which spread over an area of 300 acres. Children can enjoy the toy train ride in the park and there is a big aquarium which is the largest aquarium of its kind in the country. Day 2 - Bangalore to Mysore

On the 2nd day of the Bangalore Mysore Ooty Kodaikanal tour package, you will head towards Mysore after having a delicious breakfast. En-route Mysore, you will visit the Srirangapatna which is a small island situated near the Cauvery River. This quaint little island is situated at18 km from Mysore. Srirangapatna is a paradise for the history buff and it is an architectural marvel. This structures of this island are a perfect blend of Hoysala and Vijayanagar architectural style. Boasts of rich history and cultural heritage, the temple of Srirangapatna is one of the important Vaishnavite pilgrimage places. The breathtaking scenic beauty of this place owning to spectacular waterfalls make this a perfect place for peace lovers. The monuments of the island have been designated as the UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the excursion, you will get an opportunity to explore Dariya Daulat Bagh, Gumbaz Tippu Fort, and Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple.

Day 3 - Mysore Local Sightseeing

On the 3rd day of the trip to Bangalore Mysore Ooty and Kodaikanal, you will embark on the sightseeing tour of Mysore after having a delicious breakfast. You will visit the Maharaja’s Mysore Palace which was the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore. The palace is situated in the cent heart of the Mysore while facing towards the Chamundi Hill. The Mysore Palace was the official residence of the Wadiyar Dynasty and boast of exquisite architecture. After exploring this beautiful edifice, you will visit the Chamundi Hills which is perched at an altitude of 3,300 feet above the sea level. Chamundeshwari Temple is a famous tourist place here which is set atop the hill. The temple is dedicated to the Goddess Chamundi and within the sanctum, there is a sculpted depiction of the goddess. From the top of the hill, you will be able to admire the breathtaking beauty of the Mysore Palace, Karanji Lake and the bird’s eye view of the Mysore.

Mysore Zoo will be the next destination which is home to some of the exotic wildlife species. The zoo accommodating more than 1450 specimens of 168 species and during the tour you will be able to spot the Lion, Tiger, Jaguar, Elephant, Giraffe, Leopard, Lagoon, Crocodile, Sloth Bear, and many more. Then you will visit the Saint Philomena's Church which is one of the amazing churches in India. This catholic church was constructed in 1936 and one of the largest churches in Asia. It is a perfect example of the Neo-gothic architectural style.

Jagan Mohan Palace will be the last stopover of the day. This palace is an Art Gallery. This three-story palace is built in the Hindu architectural style. The art gallery comprises more than 2,000 murals, paintings, weapons of war, musical instruments, sculptures, unique artefacts, and many more things which belonged to the bygone era.

Day 4 - Mysore to Ooty

On the 4th day of the tour, you will check out from the hotel after having the breakfast and head towards Ooty while on the way you will get an opportunity to explore the Bandipur National Forest & Madumali Forest. The national park comprises a wide range of flora, fauna, and exotic wildlife species. During the tour, you will be able to spot the hornbills, elephant, python, sloth bears, etc. The area of the Bandipur Forest was once served as a hunting ground and then it was converted into the national park. It is the largest biosphere reserve in India and a famous tiger reserve. Here you will be able to spot the tiger if you are lucky and after the tour, you will head towards the Ooty.

Upon your arrival in Ooty, you will check into the pre-booked hotel and take some rest. Later in the evening, you will embark on the sightseeing tour of the city where you will first visit the Rose Garden which is a retreat for the nature lovers. The garden is located on the Elk Hill slopes in Ooty and this garden comprises a wide variety of roses.

Then you will visit Ooty Lake and here you can indulge in some water sports activities like boating. You can enjoy the paddle boat, rowing boat, and motorboats. There is a mini-train also in which children can take a ride and enjoy the time. The lake is spread over a sprawling area of 65 acres and it is home to some of the exotic species of birds here which you can spot during your visit here. Then you will visit the Botanical Garden which is snuggled in the lower slopes of the Doddabetta Peak. Day 5 - Ooty & Coonoor Local Sightseeing

After enjoying the delicious breakfast you will head towards Coonoor for the sightseeing tour. You will visit the Sim's Park, Lamb's Rock, Dolphin Nose and Ketti Valley. Sim’s Park spreads over a sprawling 12 hectares of land and this park boasts of 1,000 different species of flora. You can take a stroll amidst the lush greenery, and vibrant flowers which offer peace and tranquillity. Lamb’s Rock offers the majestic view of the valley.

Dolphin’s Nose looks like a nose of Dolphin and due to this place gets its name. From here people can enjoy the majestic views of the Nilgiri Hills and Catherine Falls. Spend some quality time here with your loved ones away from the hustle-bustle of city life. The paradisiacal beauty of this place will leave you spellbound. Then you will head towards the Ketti Valley where you can enjoy the panoramic views of the magnificent place. You can reach here by toy train and admire the immense beauty of the place. This place is a heaven for nature lovers and people can enjoy hiking here. Ketti Valley is the second largest gorge in the world and this place is encompassed by the Nilgiri Mountains.

After this, you will visit the Tea factory and Tea Museum where you can soak in the aroma of different variety of teas and it is a nature retreat. The tea estate offers the bird’s eye view of how the tea is manufactured and produced. You can also buy tea from here and take it as a souvenir for your loved ones. The place of the day will be Doddabetta Peak which is situatedat 10 km from Ooty and elevating at an altitude of 2,623 m above the sea level. This is the highest peak in the Nilgiri range and encompassed with the dense forest. The viewpoint offers a breathtaking view of Mysore on clear days.

Day 6 - Ooty to Kodaikanal

On the 6th day of the tour, you will proceed towards the Kodaikanal after having a delicious breakfast. Enjoy the exquisite landscapes on your way to Kodaikanal. The mesmerising views will accompany you on your route. It will take you to reach Kodaikanal 7 hours from Ooty. Upon your arrival, you will have an assisted transfer to the hotel. Take some rest after check in to the hotel on arrival. During the evening hours, you will start your sightseeing tour of Kodaikanal.

Evening visit to Coaker's walk which is one km long walking plaza. This lovely path is encompassed by majestic mountains and offers panoramic views of the surroundings. Delve into the tranquillity and peace of this place. After this, you will head towards Green Valley View which is also renowned as the Suicide Point in Kodaikanal. This place offers a breathtaking view of the valley and hills. This point has a 5000 feet deep point which is dangerous and that is why this place gets its other name, Suicide Point. Then you will visit Kodai Lake which is Star Shaped Lake. This man-made lake is encompassed by rich green Palani Hills. Perched at an altitude of 2285 m above the sea level, Kodaikanal Lake is a perfect place to spend the evening at leisure. Tourists can enjoy the shikara, paddleboat, and there are luxury boats available too. Bryant Park is situated on the eastern side of the Kodai Lake where you can take a stroll and spot some of the exquisite species of trees. This park complies 325 species of trees, shrubs, and even cacti.

Day 7 - Kodaikanal Local Sightseeing

After enjoying the morning breakfast you will proceed to sightseeing tour of Kodaikanal. You will visit the Pillar's Rocks which is a lovely tourist spot of the city. There are three vertical boulders placed here and this place offers a bird’s eye view of the valley. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of this place and head towards the Silent Valley View which is located in the proximity of the Pillar’s Rock. Enjoy the stunning views from the valley and soak in the mesmerising beauty to this place. Then you will visit the Berijam Lake which is a quaint little reservoir. This place is snuggled on the place of the old site of Fort Hamilton and situated in the upper Palani Hills. This lake was formed as a result of the construction of the dam. Here tourists can enjoy the unhindered beauty of nature and it is a nature lovers paradise. Encompassed by the acacia and pine trees, this place makes a perfect place for the bird watching. The lake also facilitates the habitat to many animals namely Bison, Indian Elephant, Nilgiri Langur, and Deer.

Silver Cascade Falls is another tourist destination where you will visit. These waterfalls are the result of the overflowing of the man-made Kodai Lake. These cascades are thrashing down from a height of 180 feet and offer the mesmerising beauty of nature. Devil's Kitchen is a unique heritage site which is located on the outskirts of Kodaikanal. One can reach here from the Moir Point. This place is also popularly known as the Guna Caves. These are the group of caves which are famous among hikers and nature lovers. Situated at an elevation of 2230 m above the sea level, Devil’s Kitchen is situated in the dense forest on the top of a hill and the backside of the Pillar’s Rock while it is situated at 1.5 km from the rock. The path of the cave goes through the Pine Forest and possesses paradisiacal beauty. Enjoy nature at its best here and spend some quality time away from the hustle-bustle of the city life.

After this, you will visit the Kurinji Andavar Temple which is dedicated to Lord Murugan. This temple is also associated with the Kurinji Flower which blooms in every 12 years. This purple flower carpeted the whole area and at this time the place looks like heaven. The temple is situated 3 km from the Kodai Lake and encompassed by the Palani Hills. Lord Murugan is also renowned as the Lord Kartikeya who is the elder son of Lord Shiva. Seeks blessing from Lord Murugan and spend some time in nature.
