Kerala Cultural Tours

Destinations Covered: Calicut (Kozhikode) – Beypore – Mahe – Wayanad - Cheruthuruthy - Cochin – Alleppey – Thottapally – Kovalm.
Day 01: Calicut
We will meet you on your arrival at Calicut and thereafter take you to the Kappad Beach Resort. The idyllic Kappad beach is believed to be the place where Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama had landed in 1498. Stay overnight at the resort.
Day 02: Beypore
Today we will take you to Beypore – another beach destination, famous for its ancient ship-building yard. Beypore is at a distance of 11km from Calicut. Visit the ship yard and watch the craftsmen working on intricate designs. Interact with the ‘khalasis’ or ship-makers and know about their ways of life. Return back to Kappad Beach resort for night stay.
Day 03: Mahe
Set out for Mahe – a historic city that boasts of a fantastic blend of myth and mystery. Upon reaching, check in at Ayisha Manzil – a heritage bungalow located on the shores of the Arabian Sea. After lunch visit some of the popular historical monuments in the city including Othenan's Fort, St. George Fort and Thalassery Fort. Also visit the 12th century Malik bin Dinar mosque. Retire to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 04: Mahe
Today we take you for a visit to the Traditional Dance Center of Kerala. Watch ‘Thayum’ and ‘Kalari Pati’ – the famous traditional dance and martial art forms of Kerala. Return to Ayisha Manzil at night.
Day 05: Wayanad
Today we will drive you to the Vythiri Resort in the Wayanad Hills. This wonderful resort is located amid the pristine setting of verdant tropical rain forests in Wayanad. Enjoy various activities like trekking at Chembra Peak, bird watching at Muthanga Wildlife sanctuary, or even embarking on elephant rides. Spend night at the resort.
Day 06: Wayanad
Pay a visit to the nearby tribal village ‘Thirunelli' and the tribal museum ‘Ambalavayal'. Afterwards we will set out for a trip to the historic Edakkal caves at Sultan Bathery. These caves bear sculptures and inscriptions dating back to prehistoric times. Return to Vythiri resort at night.
Day 07: Cheruthuruthy
Seventh day will be spent at Cheruthuruthy in Kerala Cultural Tours. Cheruthuruthy is one of the most famous places in Kerala. It is a home to Natya Kala Mandalam, the revered place for traditional art forms of Kerala. This dance place features three main parts which include aniyara or green room, rangam or stage, and the space on front and side of it meant for the audience, and the mridanga-patha or the place for drum. You will also get an opportunity to visit local potters and weavers of this place who are famous for their excellent art. And once you are through with all these, you will be taken to elegant Heritage River Retreat Hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 08: Cochin
On the eight day your destination will be Cochin. In this city of Kerala you will see various colors and things of South India as this center of fort is a witness to the merger of Portuguese, Dutch and Chinese culture. Here you will also perceive a small Jewish population. In Cochin, you will be taken to Mattancherry Palace, Chinese Fishing Nets, Saint Francis Church and the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth. To bask in the aromatic spice fragrance, Jew town area's spice market is ideal. You will be taken to the spice market and from there in the evening you will be watching live Kathakali dance performances. And after all these, you will be marching towards Fort Heritage Hotel to spend one night.
DAY 09: Alleppey
Your ninth day will be a day of houseboats. On this day you will find yourself in Alleppey. Traversing through coconut fringed canal, you will observe villagers busy doing their regular activities. On your way you will see various tourist spots. And along with on board delicious meals your overnight stay will last on the houseboat itself.
DAY 10: Thottapally
On the tenth day when you disembark your houseboat after breakfast, you will find yourself at Thottapally. From Thottapally you will be driven to Kovalam. On your way to Kovalam you will be taken to popular Haripad Subramanian Snake Temples. These beautiful and awe inspiring temples house 500 snake statues. However, after a short visit to this temple you will move towards Kovalam Beach Resort for an overnight stay
DAY 11: Kovalam
Your eleventh day is scheduled for relaxation. Being in Kovalam you can very well bask in Kerala famous ayurvedic massage at the Ayurveda resort on the Kovalam beach. After relishing the real fun of ayurvedic massage and body treatment you will be spending your night at the Kovalam Beach Resort
DAY 12: Trivandrum
Now, the final day that is the 12 th day has come when you will be taken to Trivandrum airport. From the airport you will go for your onward journey or head for your home.
